» Junior tennis
Published 14/05/2006 | Junior Tennis | Unrated

During the height of the summer, all courts (6 astro and 2 grass) are in full use at Junior Friday evening sessions.

Junior tennis is organised by a small voluntary group of adult members and parents. Thanks to their efforts, demand has grown and a number of changes have been made by the club in the court schedule to enable more junior playing time. We hope to offer the opportunity to all age groups to play in matches against other clubs, and also make the Club’s junior tournament even more successful.

This all requires a lot of planning and organisation and the help of parents is desperately required. Matches can only be played if they are organised and the children can be transported and supervised.

In addition to Friday Junior Night, squads are coached at weekends - more details from John Gotke 07930 626594.

· Junior/Senior tournament

Friday evenings outdoors are free to all Junior Members.

John Gotke holds group coaching sessions at weekends and CLTC organises a Junior Club Tournament leading to Finals Day, a Members’ box league and matches against other clubs. Juniors can also enter the Kent LTA Open Tournament.

Mini Tennis

The Mini Tennis programme is growing, with children progressing through the Red, Orange and Green stages.

Mini Tennis is specially designed for younger children, using smaller racquets, smaller courts and special balls. It's an easy, enjoyable and popular introduction to tennis!
