canterbury cricket and hockey indoor centre

Over the winter we have seen the opening of our amazing new Sports Centre at Polo Farm, opened by Olympic Hockey players Sean Kerly and Mel Clewlow.

It boasts a state of the art surface for cricket, with high quality lighting and 10 net spaces. The facility has already started to be used by Kent Coaches, Area cricket and a number of different local clubs.

Plans are also in the pipeline for a new Pavilion for the cricket club that should be in place for the 2018 season.

new sunday setup

This year we have decided to use our Sunday matches as development for our younger players. We have arranged several fixtures for those that want to play, and also a number of Development fixtures for our 15-20 year old players against like-minded clubs. The idea is to give you a chance of playing men’s cricket but to bat and bowl in your usual position and to have a chance of playing the longer form of the game. Contact Richard Durrant or Dan Bennett for more information if you’d be interested in playing.

players welcome

As a good sized club there is often a misconception that we are overflowing with players. We are always on the look-out for new players to play in any of our 5 teams that play across the weekend or our Junior sides that play in the week and on Sundays. If you are interested, please make contact with Stuart Drakeley (senior) or Richard Durrant (junior).

We are delighted to say that we have been re-accredited as a Clubmark club for another 3 year (certificate attached). This is testament to all of the hard work that people put in behind the scenes week after week all year round to make Canterbury such a good place to play cricket and meet new friends. Thank  you to all those that work so hard giving up their time to help the club.
