3as

Welcome to our 3as team squad

Early season pre-match photo - still full of hope and enthusiasm...

We are effectively the 5th team. Our sides ethos is to combine competitive hockey with fun.

We have a strong social team that is made up of mixed ages and abilities.

We welcome members who are either working their way down the sides or are returning to the sport after a break or are new to hockey. We also nurture youngsters into Ladies Hockey and act as a stepping stone into the higher sides by building up their confidence.

We play in Kent Division 2 so our games are relatively local.

2014-15 season

3as – Kent Division 2

FINAL LEAGUE POSITION: 9 out of 12

We had to be content with 9th in Kent division 2 this season.

We started the season of to a flying start with a 6-0 win over Maidstone. However the rest of the games were then a little hit as miss as we struggled with availability and consistency in the starting line-up. Sadly we had to concede 2 games against Bromley and Beckenham as we just could not field a team even after over an hour at selection. After the Christmas break again we had a mixed bag of results, and as the end of the season approached luckily we managed to grab some girl’s from Christ Church Uni to play and help us as we travelled to Edenbridge, where Julie Owen jumped in goal for us. The end of our season was a little disappointing as we had to concede our last away game against Kings Allen due to lack of availability and then Bromley and Beckenham conceded against us.

We would like to thank Sally, Kevin, Dominic, Mel and Annie for umpiring for us this season and the fantastic kitchen ladies for their match teas.

Canterbury Ladies 3A’S Season report 2013-2014

The ladies 3A’S had a mixed season, we started off well winning our first few matches and then had a run of draws, we hit a losing streak which seemed to last from November to January this was mainly due to lack of consistent players and most of the time playing with the bare 11 which included some inexperienced players, however towards the later part of the season the team seemed to come together. We were able to play with the same players regularly. This made a huge difference to the team’s confidence and this resulted in the team playing some fantastic hockey. We went on to win the last 4 out of our 5 matches and finished the season 6th in our league.
