2014-15 season

3s – Kent Prem

We finished off 8th. We fought a hard long season, in which we were faced with relegation after a poor start to the season, however after gaining a few players we produced some fine performances against some strong 1st teams within Kent, we saw that they train together each week and their finishing was sometimes clinical. But despite that we always went out with a positive attitude and also had some fun on the way. Awards are always important part of team moral so each week Alice Dunn or Katie Robbins won one but not always for man of the match! However Katie Knight did deserve this for producing endless saves and at times keeping our hearts beating when she thought the call was “leave it” but actually was “yours”. We said goodbye to Sophie Whiteley after a year and half and wish her good luck in her new job.

There are always a few thankyous after every season which should never be missed. To the kitchen ladies for their endless work on a Saturday and Sunday fundraising for each of us. To Lizzie for her fundraising effort this season, we raised £390.00 and to all the car drivers and umpires.

2013-14 season

3s – Kent Prem

Having won promotion the previous season into Kent Prem the thought was that it was going to be hard as we had already lost 5 experienced players and replace them with 6 Juniors. However we started the season well enough winning 4 drawing 3 and losing 1 before the games seemed to be getting harder. Not training as a team was beginning to tell.

As the New Year came we began our campaign again battling hard and often just losing out by the odd goal, very frustration as we were often equal to our opposition but at times lacking a bit of fire power.

It was a hard learning curve to our Junior members developing whilst playing some difficult sides, but has been most rewarding watching them improve. I hope that they all return next year and perhaps push for places in the side above.

Finally my thanks go to all the players who helped in many ways on and off the pitch. Thanks to Sophie for her effort and commitment on and off the pitch, I could not have done it without you!. Thanks to Kim who coached us all on a Wednesday night...though never the whole squad! To our Dinner Ladies and umpires, Thanks again.

Good luck to our new Captain and Vice who I am sure will do a Grand job!

2012-13 season

3s – Kent Div 1

Team Report by captain Fox

As captain of the 3’ for the first time, it was a new season and a new team to build. From the first match where we had 20 players the season was set as players came and went! The challenge was on!

With the excellent support of my v-captain, Vicky Beatty and the experience and support of Lizzie Forsyth and Sophie Husband, on and off the pitch we quickly developed a squad of various ages that played some good hockey! Losing only one game before xmas meant a strong position in the league to challenge for the title!

Players of all ages contributed to this from Nicky Macaulay, Kim Vanhinsburgh, Jo Drohan and Megan Richardson, Alex Hooker  to Roma Fox, Niamh O’Shea and Hannah Mount, some of whom went and finished the rest of the season with the 2As.The goalscoring prowess of Wendy Cameron, Kellie Litchfield and Lizzie Forsyth along with a cameo from Jemma Luckhurst and Julie O meant our season was developed very nicely!

It meant that we had won the league with 4 games to be played!

W 16, D4 and L3, GF 63  GA 19.

An awesome performance by squad of over 35 players, with individuals coming and then going! My apologies if I have not named anyone in our winning season, but THANKS TO ALL!

I wish the BEST to Jo Drohan and Megan Richardson in pastures new thou we hope to see Meg with our vets!!!!!

We look forward to a new season as we take on the KENT PREMIER with players, old and new! Bring it on as they say!
